Dear Friends and Family,
Thank you so much for your prayers, support, and encouraging messages while I was gone! God did so much through this trip, and I am so blessed that I got to be part of it! While we were there, we got to visit an orphanage, put on a VBS, have a night of worship, visit churches, and put on a youth conference.
One of the coolest things I got to see through this trip was that even though we were on the other side of the world, we are all worshipping the same God! It was amazing to see the way they worshipped. It was not in any way forced or required, they worshipped joyfully, eagerly, and enthusiastically. Everywhere we went, the people joyfully sang, danced, and praised God with their whole hearts. Even though we could not communicate with all the kids through the language barrier, it was sweet to see how smiles, hugs, and laughter are all universal. It was humbling to see that even through all of the poverty we saw, the people we met were not just content, they were joyful.
One of the sweetest moments on the trip for me was when a young girl at the orphanage looked at me and said, "I know that you love Jesus because of the way you are loving me". It was so encouraging to see how even the smallest acts of kindness, like tying a bracelet on a little girl's wrist, meant the world to them. Another special moment for me was after the youth conference when a young lady walked up to me in tears and told me that she was struggling with the same things I had shared in my breakout and that she had been praying for someone to understand what she was going through when it felt like no one could. That lead to a great gospel conversation and prayer time.
This trip was filled with “God moments” and countless stories of how we saw the Lord work! We experienced a lot of spiritual warfare on this trip, but it was amazing to see how the Lord took what was meant for evil and turned it for good. Thank you so much for your prayers and support, this trip would not have been possible without them! Please continue to pray for the people and ministries we visited, and for the Lord to continue to work in Southeast Asia. Please feel free to reach out with any questions about the trip or if you would like to hear more stories!
