**UPDATE** In light of recent protests in the area, our team has postponed the trip to January. Grateful for your support, and we will continue to keep you all updated as we can!

**UPDATE**

Hey all! As you may have followed along, the Lebanese government fell apart this past fall. The timing was disappointing, especially after a group of teenagers from our church spent time there this summer without any issue! We delayed our trip in November, in order to give our partner clinic time to survey the area and give us an idea of what it might look when we arrived. After three months, there seems to be a potential new prime minister and cabinet, but it is still up in the air. The clinic advises us to delay our trip indefinitely. We are donating all of our raised funds to the clinic and hope to plan a trip when things are a little more clear! Thank you for your support, and write me personally with any questions or feedback about your financial contribution.

This November, I've been given the opportunity to travel to the Middle East with a medical team from Carmel Baptist Church. We'll spend a week staffing a local medical clinic that serves Syrian refugees, and I couldn't feel more blessed or excited.

It was five years ago when I first learned of the growing Syrian refugee crisis. I often took to social media to watch people pour out of boats in a new land, with no place to go and little hope in reserve. I studied and cried and prayed and even reached out to a few NGOs (non-government agencies) about opportunities to serve. But my kids were young, the crisis was fresh, and the timing wasn't right.

Fast forward to this year, as my husband and I worked to settle our family into our new church. Carmel Baptist had recently hired my husband to the worship team, and I prayed for God to show me an opportunity to get connected in my own way. I joined a community group and I also learned of this trip. It felt like a sweet nudge from the Lord, after all of these years.

I finally get to travel to the place and the people I've been watching and praying about, alongside my new Carmel Baptist family. I have personally committed myself to raising the funds to be a part of this trip. I'm grateful for your prayers and financial support. Your donation is tax-deductible, and your prayers are cherished. Thank you for partnering with me on this beautiful opportunity!
