I would like to invite each of you to prayerfully consider being God’s hands and feet in Guyana, South America this summer. Our trip’s main thrust is evangelism. Guyana is the only English speaking country in South America and only has about 800,000 people; half live in towns and half in remote villages. Our heart’s desire is for the Great Commission to be reached and to have every person in Guyana hear the truth of the Gospel and how they can have forgiveness and eternal life through Jesus.
Our summer trips consist of mainly working with children at churches or community centers and prisoners. With both, we have music and share the Gospel. Then our team sits across from them and we talk one on one, answering questions and many times, having the joy of leading them to accept Christ. The joy that we have seen in changed lives has been life-changing for those who have gone on the trips and we would like to invite you to consider stepping out of your normal routine and sharing the Gospel with many who need to hear.
Since we go into prisons, there is an age limit on this trip. Teens 14 and 15 must have a parent with them. A teen who is spiritually mature and at least 16 years old may go without a parent.

*If you have been on a trip or served on a team here at Carmel recently and have had a background check and completed the screening form in the last 3 years you are not required to turn those in.

All team members under 18 on the day of departure please print and fill out these forms and return them to your trip leader. Please note that there are TWO Parental Release forms, we are required by the US Government to have a signed Parental Release from both parents in order for your child to leave the country. If a parent is traveling with your child, we only need a form from the parent who is not traveling.

Lois Bumpus Scholarship Application

This scholarship is available for Carmel Members who are 16-26 going on a Carmel sponsored trip. Here is the application to the scholarship.
Please make sure you have enough time allotted to fill out the entire application, we recommend allowing around an hour to spend on the application.
Requirements
Prerequisites
- Must have a valid passport that does not expire before January 29, 2018
Preparation
- Apply for the trip and pay the $100 non-refundable deposit
- Fill out the paperwork under the Forms tab
- Create a personalized trip page
- Check with your primary doctor or the CDC website for recommended vaccinations
- Commit to attending all team meetings, including the debrief meeting after your trip returns
- Make sure that 100% of your finances are turned in 2 weeks prior to your departure
