Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic trip is from Feb. 24-Mar. 3, Saturday to Saturday. We are working with Freedom International Ministries which is building and operates a Christian school to serve the children whose parents work in the sugar cane fields in the Dominican. The sugar cane workers are the very poorest people in the Dominican and many are from Haiti. The school has been adding a grade each year and is now teaching K through 4. We need missionaries to work with the children at the school, to prayer walk the sugar cane villages, to go out with evangelism teams to the villages and towns near the school and to do light construction work ( skilled and unskilled) in the continued construction of the school building. This will be Carmel’s 6th trip to work with Freedom International.

Lois Bumpus Scholarship Application

This scholarship is available for Carmel Members who are 16-26 going on a Carmel sponsored trip. Here is the application to the scholarship.
Please make sure you have enough time allotted to fill out the entire application, we recommend allowing around an hour to spend on the application.
Adult Forms Required

Any team members 18 or older on the day of departure, please print and fill out these forms and return them to your trip leader.
*If you have been on a trip or served on a team here at Carmel recently and have had a background check and completed the screening form in the last 3 years you are not required to turn those in.
Minor Forms

All team members under 18 on the day of departure please print and fill out these forms and return them to your trip leader. Please note that there are TWO Parental Release forms, we are required by the US Government to have a signed Parental Release from both parents in order for your child to leave the country. If a parent is traveling with your child, we only need a form from the parent who is not traveling.
Requirements
Prerequisites
- Applicant must have valid passport that does not expire before September 3, 2018
Preparation
- Apply for the trip and pay the $100 deposit upon being accepted
- Fill out the paperwork under the Forms tab
- Create personalized trip page for fundraising
- Commit to attend all team meetings
- Check the CDC website or consult your primary care doctor about recommended immunizations
- Make sure 100% of all trip fees are submitted 2 weeks prior to departure
